🎯 What You'll Do
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up, following best practices.
- Convert Figma (or other design files) into responsive, accessible, interactive WordPress sites.
- Own the full development lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Optimize sites for performance (fast loading), SEO, and excellent UX across devices.
- Collaborate with design and strategy teams to translate requirements into robust implementations.
🧾 Required Qualifications
- Proven portfolio of custom WordPress work (not just pre-built themes).
- Fluent with PHP and JavaScript and familiar with the WordPress Codex and hooks system.
- Comfortable with modern tooling: Git, Sass, and Webpack (or equivalent build tools).
- Understanding of semantic HTML/CSS—you know a <div> is a container, not a styling shortcut.
- Experience with WordPress REST API and/or headless WordPress setups is a strong plus.
🛠️ Skills & Technologies
- Custom theme and plugin development.
- Responsive layout techniques (mobile-first), accessibility (WCAG basics), and cross-browser testing.
- Performance optimization: asset bundling, lazy loading, and caching strategies.
- Basic familiarity with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and hosting platforms (cPanel, managed WP hosts, or similar).
- Comfort using design hand-off tools (Figma, Zeplin) and translating design tokens into CSS/Sass.
