Job Overview
- Position: Computer Lab Technician & Assistant
- Institution: St. Joan’s Primary School, Salt Lake
- Location: Salt Lake, Kolkata, West Bengal
- Job Type: Full-time (On-site)
- Salary: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month
- Experience Required: 2–5 years (preferred)
- Reports to: Head of IT & Operations / Academic Coordinator
- This is a technical support and academic assistance role, perfect for candidates with IT infrastructure, networking, and CCTV management expertise.
Job Responsibilities
- Lab Management
- Ensure computer labs are ready for daily classes (systems switched on, software preloaded, and AV equipment working).
- Provide assistance to teachers and students during lab sessions.
- Supervise students to ensure safe and proper handling of equipment.
- Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Install, configure, and update OS, applications, and learning tools.
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, projectors, printers, scanners, and smart boards.
- Maintain antivirus, perform updates, and keep issue logs.
- Networking & Servers
- Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Maintain and back up servers, manage cloud integration, and manage user accounts.
- Ensure consistent internet and liaise with ISPs when required.
- CCTV & Security Systems
- Install, configure, and monitor CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR, and surveillance software.
- Back up footage as per protocols and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with vendors for upgrades and AMC support.
- Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain updated records of IT assets and CCTV equipment.
- Track software licenses, warranties, and service contracts.
- Recommend system upgrades or replacements.
- Support & Training
- Provide IT training for staff (Google Workspace, MS Office, ERP).
- Assist in robotics labs, online exams, and school events.
- Provide IT support during workshops and presentations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications (preferred): CompTIA A+/N+, CCNA, MCSE, CCTV Installation.
- Experience: 2–5 years in IT support, system administration, or CCTV management.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required.
Required Skills
- Windows, Linux, and basic Mac OS administration.
- LAN/WAN networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Installation & troubleshooting of desktops, peripherals, and CCTV systems.
- Server management, backup, and antivirus solutions.
- Familiarity with smart boards, projectors, and school IT infrastructure.
Salary
