Job Responsibilities
- Machine Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery, including:
- Cutting machines (hydraulic/pneumatic)
- Sewing machines (post-bed, flat-bed, cylinder-bed, etc.)
- Skiving machines, embossing machines, edge-finishing units, heat presses
- Compressors, conveyors, and leather splitting machines
- Calibrate and align tools for accuracy and efficiency.
- Electrical & Utility Maintenance
- Maintain lighting, power supply, and factory utilities such as air compressors and water systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical panels, control wiring, and machine-related circuits.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Keep stock of essential spare parts, lubricants, and consumables.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement and timely repair services.
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during maintenance work.
- Support compliance with fire safety systems and factory standards.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed logs of machine breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Report recurring issues and provide solutions to management for long-term efficiency.
- Support to Production Team
- Work closely with supervisors to schedule machine servicing during idle times.
- Provide immediate response during emergency breakdowns to minimize production delays.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education:
- ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience:
- 2 to 5 years in factory/plant maintenance.
- Prior experience in the leather, garment, or light manufacturing sectors will be an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Industrial sewing and leather processing machines.
- Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams/manuals.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of factory safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Hands-on skills in sewing machine repair, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment maintenance, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery used in leather goods production.
- Ability to plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Team coordination and ability to work under tight deadlines.
