About the Program
NSP Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers - Pre-Matric 2022-23 is an initiative for the students studying from Class 1 to 10. The scholarship is being offered by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The main objective of this scheme is to ensure that no child is working in any hazardous sector as labour. The selected candidates will receive up to INR 2,000 per annum.
Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a student studying from Class 1 to 10
- be a child of Beedi, Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker with at least six months of service (Note - This includes Contract/Gharkhata (Home Based) workers also.)
- have passed the last qualifying examination in the first attempt
- have taken regular admission for studies at recognized institutions in India in any course of general or technical education, including medical, engineering and agricultural studies
- have a total monthly family income below INR 10,000 from all sources
Note - The students promoted to the next class are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Benefits
The selected students will receive the following benefits -
Class 1 to 4 (for purchase of dress, books etc.) INR 1,000
Class 5 to 8 INR 1,500
Class 9 INR 2,000
Class 10 INR 2,000

Documents
The following documents are required:
- Photo of the applicant
- Copy of the Identity card of the worker (Form B Register Number in case of mine workers)
- Copy of front page of Bank Passbook or Cancelled Cheque (which should contain details of the account holder/beneficiary)
- Passing Certificate/marksheet of the previous academic year
- Income Certificate issued by the revenue authority
How can you apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner'and click on 'New Registration'.
Step 3: Now click on 'Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23'.
Step 4: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'.
Step 5: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Pre Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, and write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID.
Step 6: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)
Step 7: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 9: Now, log in using OTP and fill the application form.
Step 10: After successful submission of the application form, an application ID and password will be generated which can be used for future references.
Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
The candidate will be selected based on the marks percentage obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam and the parent’s/guardian’s annual income.
Terms and Conditions
- The Scholars pursuing studies through Correspondence are not eligible.
- The students who receive scholarships or stipends from any other source will not receive benefits under this Scheme.
- The Scholar should have a separate bank account. In case of a Joint Account, the first name should be of the Scholar.
- More than one child of the same worker must provide a separate bank account number.
- Each Scholar is required to provide a separate mobile number.
- The following students are not eligible for the scholarship -
- Students who after passing one stage of education want to continue studying in the same stage of education but in a different subject. e.g. B.Sc. after B.Com. or B.Com. after B.A. or M.A. in one subject after M.A. in another subject.
- Students who have completed their educational career in one professional line and are willing to continue education in a different professional line, e.g. L.L.B. after B.T. or B.Ed.
The scholarship sanctioned is liable to be cancelled on the following occasions -
- If the scholar is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statements.
- If the scholar discontinues studies, the scholarship shall be stopped from the date of such discontinuance.
- If the scholar changes the subject of the course of study for which the scholarship was originally awarded or changes the Institution of Study without the prior approval of the Welfare Commissioner.
- If the scholar fails to make satisfactory progress in the studies/is irregular in attendance/guilty of misconduct during the academic year for which scholarship has been granted.
- If the parent(s) of the scholar ceases to be a Beedi/Mine/Cine worker.
Note - If the scholars are found to have committed any one or more of the above after the scholarship amount has actually been paid, the amount shall be recovered forthwith from their parents.
