Over the past few years, we find that the SSA has ensured that 98% of our country's students are enrolled in a school in Grade 1 - and hence the "access to schools" issue is largely solved. However, when we look at what happens to these students' academic careers as they get into higher grades, we find an alarming problem i.e. the dropout rate. We find that only 26% of these students actually make it to college!! This is the challenge iTeach Schools wants to try and start solving now - for the poorest of our nation's students, by starting and operating a chain of affordable secondary schools.

Job description
Responsibilities:
The instructor is a member of the program implementation team and has direct responsibility for program delivery at the school level.
Program Implementation
Set up & maintain lab for conducting practical
- Raw material procurement
- Maintenance and Inventory of tools and raw material
- Make lesson plans as per curriculum & conduct practical sessions accordingly.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus.
- Motivate students to actively participate in training.
- Conduct Guest lectures, field visits, etc. to give exposure to the students.
- Be aware of various career opportunities for the students and guide them in making informed career choices.
- Attend training sessions organized by the LAHI and keep oneself updated regularly.
Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain proper relations with the school team and parents for the successful implementation of the program.
- Attend regular check-ins with the program lead to run the program smoothly.
- Plan & organize relevant activities for stakeholders.
- Documenting all the above.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Submit monthly reports and other required documents of the project regularly and timely.
- Maintain registers required for the project in proper format and keep them up to date.
- Conduct assessment of students.
- Maintain photos and video documentation of all school-related activities.
Advocacy
- Organize World Youth Skill Day, and Engineers Day, etc. to spread awareness of skill education.
- Arrange visits, workshops by donors, Government officials, or any external stakeholders to appropriately represent and demonstrate the progress of the project.
- Develop & maintain relations with various community members by coordinating with the social worker of school
Experience & Competencies:
- S/he should have sound knowledge of the technical subjects and good basic general knowledge.
- S/he should have good teaching / mentoring skills.
- S/he should have a pro-entrepreneurial attitude and should have strong belief in the skills and abilities of aspiring entrepreneurs, the ability to identify them and create opportunities for special mentoring for such cases.
- S/he should be self-driven and should possess an attitude of perseverance, proactivity, critical thinking and willingness to learn.
- S/he should remain committed towards strong values of Integrity, Commitment, Accountability and Transparency at every level of work.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic or ITI / Polytechnic Diploma in Technical trade.
- Basic proficiency in English
- Basic Computer operating knowledge
- Experience in the following fields will be an advantage
- Teaching/training
- Skill education related work
- Work in Social sector
- Educational qualification- Diploma, degree or ITI certificate in relevant field (mechanical, electrical, welding, fitter, turner, agriculture, home science) / HSC vocational / DBRT / RPL Level 3 and above
