Job description/Mission
The main responsibility of the Design/Project Engineer in the Engineering Change Management (ECM) team is to handle Group Standard Department activities related to standard components and materials.
In the Design/Project Engineer job, you will be working at the Global Engineering Centre of Atlas Copco in the Engineering Change Management (ECM) team.
You will be responsible:
- Requests received standardization of Mechanical & Electrical spare parts
- You work in a team of designers and project engineers.
Your responsibilities will include the following aspects.
Standardization:
- Study the requests received in the standard call database (JIRA calls) for new Mechanical & Electrical parts numbers.
- As per the checklist understand the requirement of standard parts & reserve new numbers in the respective database as per Atlas Copco practice.
- prepare/ get it prepared from external partners 3D CAD models of standard parts in Autodesk Inventor (2020) CREO 7.0 & CATIA (V5)
- Checking of 3D models & releasing them into respective PLM/PDM systems.
- Preparation of technical specifications
- Help designers to search/select the correct standard parts from the database.
- Interaction with requesters from various parts of the world for the details of parts and technical applications
You will report to the Senior Project leader.
Educational requirements/Experience requirements
- BE / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 to 3 years or Diploma with a minimum of 4-5 years with strong project management and engineering background.
- Knowledge of CAD software. Inventor is preferred
- Knowledge of Ms office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, etc
- Good written & verbal communication in English is a must.

What we expect of you?
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of global standards ISO, DIN etc.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical standard components.
- Experience in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor & Solid Works).
- Experience of Windchill, Enovia, Vault.

- Good communication skills in English.
- Good interpersonal skills including self-starter and positive approach.
- Should be customer-focused.
